The Norfolk Mead Hotel

The Norfolk Mead Hotel is one of the best wedding venues in Norfolk, and the perfect backdrop for a beautiful wedding film. In this article i’ll be discussing four reasons why you should consider The Norfolk Mead for your wedding day.

I’m Chris Chadwick is a Wedding Videographer based on the Norfolk Coast and filming weddings in Norfolk, Suffolk and throughout the UK. Three Reasons I love The Norfolk Mead

1. Outdoor Space

The Norfolk Mead has beautiful outdoor spaces. Your private ceremony and reception space ‘The Garden Room’ opens onto walled gardens and beyond this you’ll find a larger green space leading down to the river. These gardens make for a perfect space to celebrate and provide a beautiful backdrop for photo and video.

2. The Garden Room Ceremony Space

Your ceremony can be conducted in the ‘Garden Room’ which features full wall of glass on one side, ensuring beautiful lighting for the most important part of your day. The Garden Room can accommodate up to 140 seated guests and your reception guest list can expand to accommodate 250.

The Norfolk Mead hold a wedding license so can hold your civil ceremony or civil partnership here. The Norfolk Mead specialises in diversity and an inclusive approach and welcomes couples from the LGBTQ+ community.

3.Exclusivity

The wedding venue is separated from the hotel which ensures you don’t need to mix with hotel guests and enjoy your wedding solely in the company of your loved ones. If your guests do require rooms the whole hotel can also be hired.

Practical Considerations

No wedding venue is perfect and I have also observed a couple of drawbacks to this venue that you should consider:

  1. Limited Availability: due to high demand there may be limited availability during summer months, so if you like this venue it’s advisable to book in advance, particularly in peak season

  2. Remote location: due to it’s out of town location it’s advisable to consider the transportation and logistics involved in getting to and from the venue, particularly for guests travelling from further afield.
